WeGift — Privacy Policy

Overview

WeGift (“the App”) is published by Exectek LLC. WeGift helps groups share wish lists while keeping gift claims hidden from the person receiving gifts. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the App and how it is handled.

Information you provide

When you create an account or use the App, you may provide:

• Email address and password (for sign-in)
• Display name
• Group names, wish list items (titles, notes, links), and gift-claim status within groups you join
• Private personal lists stored under your account (not shared with a group unless you choose to)
• Notification preferences within groups

How we use this information

We use the information above to:

• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Store and sync your groups, lists, claims, and in-app notifications
• Let you join groups with a join code and share lists with other members

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the App for third-party advertising.

Service providers

The App uses Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to run sign-in and cloud storage. Data you enter in the App is stored in Firebase infrastructure operated by Google under their terms and privacy policies. We also use Firebase App Check to help protect backend access from abuse.

If you open an Amazon product or search link from the App, you leave WeGift and are subject to Amazon’s site policies. Some links may include WeGift’s Amazon Associates referral tag.

What stays on your device

The App may cache data locally (for example, display names or theme preferences) so the App works smoothly offline or after restarts. Cached cloud data is tied to your account and Firebase security rules.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account from Settings. That removes your Firebase Authentication account and deletes or detaches your Firestore data according to the in-app deletion flow (groups you own, your lists, personal lists, and related records). Some group activity history may remain visible to other members after you leave a group, as described in the App.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
